"I Am an Artist" by Pat Lowry Collins

We went for a stroll (with buckets - smile) in search of finding beauty in God's creations.  We used our senses to see, hear, smell, and touch what we found.

The leaves were gorgeous!

Aubrey liked the grass and the green pine needles against  the brown trees.

There was not a cloud in the sky!

The girls blew the seeds of a dandelion,

and smelled and touched flowers and stone.

We heard a chirp then spotted a bird in flight, 

and noticed that the moon was visible in the daytime.

Back inside, Aubrey identified objects while blind-folded, using just her senses of taste, touch, smell, and hearing.

 She did worksheets about the five senses from ???.

Then we got out our magnifying glass and observed shells, a starfish, sand dollar, flowers, and leaves.

"Yellow Ball" by Molly Bang

The story is illustrated in pastels (chalk), so Aubrey duplicated the cover picture with her chalk.  She also did the lapbook lessons from Homeschool Share and writing and word search from First-School.

The Georgia Aquarium would have been a great place for our field trip so we could look at ocean life like what the yellow ball saw at sea, but we had to settle for a visit to our local pet store this time to look at small fish and wildlife  (plus some other fun animals, too).

It was feeding time for the snakes - - yuck!

Aubrey completed all of the great lapbook lessons from Homeschool Share,  letter writing from First-School, and on-line phonics program from Starfall.

Then it was time for our field trip.  Aubrey took her big, green pocketbook to downtown Monroe to many of the places that were in the book.

We had a yummy treat in the ice cream shop,

then went to the jewelry store where Aubrey got a key chain to put in her pocketbook.

We went to the bank where Aubrey received a lollipop for her pocketbook.

Lastly, we went to the drug store where we bought a box of crayons for Aubrey's green pocketbook and a some candy orange slices for Daddy - all the things that the little girl experienced in the book.

For this book, Aubrey dressed her little "Jesse Bear" according to the given weather/event.

 Aubrey did several activities from Homeschool Share such as this rhyming match game, and had Teddy Grahams for her snack.
